Many of you may know my dear friends, Gordon and Annette Sun, that live in Lakeland,Florida. Annette and her girls came to visit me this past summer and we had a wonderful time together.
Annette had lost her baby, a son named Jordan, a few years ago. He was born at 24 weeks and had every complication that came with it. After several months in the hospital he finally came home with a breathing machine and an in home nurse.
They celebrated his first birthday gathered with family and friends who had prayed them through, and just a few short months later he went home to be with Jesus. As to be expected, it took an incredible toll on the family, especially his big sisters, Cierra and Bethany. But God is faithful and in time they felt led to have another child, and they were blessed with another son.
Malachi Gordon Sun was born last week, just like his brother, at 24 weeks weighing only one pound. Gordon and Annette are on the very same roller coaster ride they were on just a few short years ago. But their faith and trust in God is unwavering. They fully believe in a plan for Malachi's life just like God had a plan for Jordan. And they are trusting in Him knowing His ways are not our own. These are some of the most amazing Christian people that I have had a chance to know. They are a blessing to all that get to do life with them. And you as my friends, may I ask that you lift up our brother and sister and their precious "Little Dude" as Gordon calls him. Here is their Caring Bridge link. http://www.carepages.com/ServeCarePage?cpn=MalachiGSun&login=true&seed=994001&ClusterNodeID=jb05&tlcx1=tgh
According to their last post he is very weak and physically spent after surgery. He isn't breathing on his own because of his exhaustion and they need to do another surgery so that he can begin eating.
Times like these could really try your faith if you look at them from the world view of our culture. But Gordon and Annette have a faith rooted in their intimate relationship with God. They know He loves them and only gives His best to His children. They eagerly wait to see what God has in store. And they trust Him no matter what that may bring.

It's stuff like this that reminds me that there are all kinds of suffering, and God can use every ounce of it to His glory, no matter how insignificant what one person is going through might seem compared to another's. I'm so thankful that He is always working on us and for our ultimate benefit. It makes getting through the tough times so much better.
